Return me to that moment from last night. You conclude your performance, raising a finger in the air. The audience erupts in cheers. What are your thoughts at that instant? I was still immersed in the performance. It was truly amazing. The crowd’s energy was electrifying. That’s the reason I skate. Do you experience nerves at all, because we need to capture that Alyssa Liu vibe you exude? Not really, but considering everything I’ve been through in my skating journey, it’s difficult to feel nervous. Despite the pressure athletes face, watching you skate last night radiated joy and freedom, which seems like your secret weapon. How do you manage to block out all the distractions? I prioritize my peace and spend a lot of time with friends and family. I often decline offers and limit my time online, making it easier to ignore the noise. Many viewers aspire to be the next Alyssa after watching you last night. How would you advise them on balancing hard work, specialization, and fun? I enjoy pushing myself to the limit, but I also understand the importance of rest. By exposing myself to various situations, I can gauge my limits effectively. You mentioned knowing yourself better now. What’s the most critical lesson you’ve learned from your initial skating days to your comeback? I’ve learned so much that it’s hard to summarize in a few words. Hopefully, one day I can share the full story coherently. Your comeback wasn’t solely about the medal. How do you want to be remembered in this sport? What legacy do you aim to leave behind? I hope my story is inspiring and encourages others to break barriers. I want my performances, dresses, and style to be remembered and appreciated in the sport. the Bay Area that we talked to earlier are stationed out there. There’s a lot of skaters that wanna be the next Alyssa. What would you want to say to them? I would say don’t try to be the next me. Um, just be, be yourself, um. And yeah, you could take inspiration that’s that’s always important, um, but at the end of the day, take some time for yourself, spend time alone, I think, I think it really helped me. And so I mean I think so many of us whether it’s athletes or just you know regular folks like myself, you have those moments where you don’t want to keep pushing at something where there are dark moments. What would you want to tell your younger self in one of those moments, especially knowing you’ve got that around your neck right now? I, I actually wouldn’t tell my younger self a thing. Why? Um, because she’s going to figure out herself. I don’t want to change anything. I love that. And how are you going to celebrate once you have time to sleep and process it all? I mean, I’ve already celebrated just my life in general as a celebration for everything I do, um, yeah. If your story gets shared, what’s the title of the book or the movie in one word? I don’t have a good one yet. There’s time.
