After a breathtaking performance, the skater shares insights on the electrifying energy that fuels their passion and the personal journey that keeps nerves at bay.

Transport me back to that moment from last night. As you conclude your performance, hand raised in the air, the audience erupts in cheers. What thoughts are running through your mind at that precise moment? “I was still immersed in the program. It was truly amazing. The crowd’s energy was electrifying and that’s exactly why I skate,” you express. When asked about feeling nervous, you reply, “Not really, but given all I’ve been through in my skating journey, it’s become quite challenging to be nervous.” Despite the intense pressure athletes face, spectators noticed a sense of joy and freedom in your performance. How do you manage to block out the external noise and distractions? “I prioritize my peace and spend quality time with my friends and family. Saying no frequently helps me stay grounded. I avoid engaging too much online, making it easier to silence the noise,” you explain. Many aspiring skaters who watched your performance aspire to be the next you. How would you advise them on balancing hard work with fun? “I enjoy pushing myself to the limit but recognize the importance of rest. Understanding myself has been crucial. I expose myself to various situations to gauge my limits effectively,” you share. Reflecting on your journey from when you first started skating to your decision to return, what’s the most significant lesson you’ve learned? “I’ve learned so much that it’s hard to summarize it now. Hopefully, one day I’ll be able to share my experiences comprehensively,” you remark. While your comeback wasn’t solely about winning medals, how do you wish to be remembered in the sport? “I hope my story is inspiring and encourages others to break barriers. I want my programs, dresses, style, and overall presence to leave a lasting impact,” you express. To the aspiring skaters in the Bay Area who look up to you, what advice would you offer? “Don’t aim to replicate me. Be authentic and draw inspiration while also dedicating time for self-reflection, which has been crucial for me,” you advise. When reflecting on moments of doubt and darkness, what message would you convey to your younger self, especially considering your current accomplishments? “I wouldn’t tell my younger self anything. She will navigate her path and I wouldn’t change a thing,” you assert. As you find time to rest and process everything, how do you plan to celebrate? “Every aspect of my life is a celebration for me,” you respond. And if your story were to be shared, what would you title the book or movie in one word? “I don’t have the perfect title yet, but there’s time,” you conclude.
